Diamond shines for Lordan

Wayne Lordan is hoping Diamond Fields can keep improving after she got her head in front in the auction maiden at Dundalk tonight.
The Tommy Stack-trained filly travelled supremely well to hit the front just inside the final furlong in the six-furlong contest but had to battle in the closing stages.
Market rival The Yellow Bus (9/4) kept at her work well to push her to a half length at the line.
The winner, sent off 2/1 favourite, had been well held at Leopardstown on her most recent start but had previously chased home a smart sort in Only Mine at Cork.
"We thought she'd have won her maiden by now. She works like a filly with a lot of talent," said Lordan.
"She travelled well but when she got to the front she pricked her ears.
"I think all the racing she can get will improve her and she could be a smart filly next year. She just needs plenty of racing for education."
