Desert Ben scores for the Caseys
The father and son team of Peter (trainer) and Oliver (jockey) Casey combined to take the penultimate race on the card at Down Royal the Barclay Communications’ Web Design Handicap with Desert Ben
The son of Desert Prince had won three times before today, twice over 5f and once over 6f, his last win coming at Dundalk way back in November of 2009. However he has been placed five time since.
Oliver Casey said: "He was drawn wide so I dropped in and came through horses. He was drawn the same at Dundalk so I was confident enough today.
"I think he’ll stay further. He could go to the Curragh next."
