First reserve Ask Delaney provided trainer Austin Leahy with a third winner in as many weeks when landing the opening division of the Junction Handicap at Tipperary today, under jockey Paddy Harnett.
Ballydoyle's Ohio State a brother to Group 1 winners U S Navy Flag and Roly Poly, was top weight for the 45-65 handicap but again disappointed and trailed home second-last, at 33/1.
At the business end Ask Delaney, a son of Gregorian, quickened up well in the home straight to eventually turn-over gambled 3/1 joint-favourite Starlight Red by a length and a half.
Leahy wasn't present and the win was Harnett's first for the Co Limerick trainer, from three rides, and his ninth career success.
