Deegan and Hayes finish on the right note

After a reverse earlier with defeat for their odds on chance English Deer Paul Deegan and Chris Hayes ended the session on the right note with a victory for Sinndar Desert in the Fund Raising Made Easy At Dundalk Median Auction Maiden.
Sporting the same colours as English Deer, those of Jaber Abdullah, Hayes on Sinndar Desert got the three-year-old home by a neck from Westpieser in the concluding extended ten furlong contest. Favourite No Wunder seemed to rather give it away, edging right in the closing stages and finishing half a length off the principals in third.
Deegan remarked: "He's a long way from the finished article and he's still a bit green even though he had two runs last year.
"He's a nice staying type of horse and we'll get him into a handicap and see how he goes." (AM & EM)
