Decorated My Life overturned the odds-on favourite Ardad's Great after a final-furlong battle in the opening median auction maiden for juveniles in Navan.
Ardad's Great made good headway at the two pole and went on with Decorated My Life in the final furlong of this extended five furlong assignment.
Odds-on backers were on good terms with themselves at this stage, however, when push came to shove on the favourite, she was unable to get past her rival.
Decorated My Life stuck her head down for Andrew Slattery and really battled in the closing stages to a neck victory at 9/1. Ardad's Great filled the runner-up berth at 1/2. The pair had the race to themselves at the business end as Marco Monaco (22/1) was four lengths back in third.
Fozzy Stack said: “She had a nice run the first day in the Curragh and I probably overfaced her a couple of times after that.
“The ground is what it is and they are getting through it - better than it being tacky.
“I’d say we’ll leave her alone now for the year.
“It’s hard work up there today and I’d say she’ll get a bit further.”
This was Decorated My Life's fourth run having been unplaced in the previous three outings including the aforementioned pair of Group 3s. She got first-time cheekpieces today and this was her first crack at heavy ground.
