Champion Bumper second placer Debuchet shrugged aside his Cheltenham exertions to convincingly land the Listed Kevin McManus Bookmaker Champion (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race at Limerick. Cornelius Sulla and the Patrick Mullins-ridden Debuchet had this between them in the straight. The victorious grey was travelling best though, and once asked to go and win his race he changed gear pretty quickly to prevail by five lengths.
"I'm delighted - that was lovely. You're always worried about coming back quick but he had four weeks and he came out of Cheltenham really well," said winning trainer Mags Mullins.
"He did it lovely today and I'd say he prefers ground a bit better than that. I'm charmed with him and they're (Force Eight Syndicate) are a great bunch of people to train for.
"If Killarney comes up right (ground-wise) for a maiden hurdle in the new season he could run there, but he is finished with bumpers now."
Patrick Mullins is now 2 ahead of Jamie Codd in the race to be champion amateur rider.
