Leading jumps trainer Henry De Bromhead sent out a second flat juvenile winner this winter at Dundalk as well-supported Vina Sena (morning 8/1, returned 16/5) readily won today's Irishinjuredjockeys.com Maiden on debut.
The son of Vadamos was ridden by jockey Bill Lee and from a wide draw in 12, eventually quickened smartly in the home straight to comfortably beat 6/4 favourite Rene Artois by two and a quarter lengths.
Honeysuckle's trainer De Bromhead won with impressive juvenile filly Star Girls Aalmal at the Co Louth venue on November 17 and following today's success, jockey Lee reported “that was a good start. I rode him here in a barrier trial in August and that trial has worked out well with winners.
“I loved him that day, I thought he was a lovely horse, and I was surprised I hadn't seen him before now. He's turned up today and he's done it well.
“He travelled lovely all the way around and just off the bend I angled out to give him a clear run with it being his first time out.
“He quickened up well, he would have loved a lead for another half furlong, but he's gone about his business well. He's done it well and he's a nice horse to look forward to.”
