Zane Grey made sure Henry De Bromhead didn’t leave the Tramore Festival empty handed as he dug deep to take the Heinz Pollmeier Memorial Hanidcap Chase under Andrew Lynch (his first winner back from injury - broke his hand at Downpatrick just over a month ago).

The grey son of Flemensfirth raced in mid-division, making progress to lead after the third last before being joined at the final fence.

A better jump there sealed the deal and he kept on best under pressure on the run-in to prevail by half a length.

The Willie Mullins trained Raise Hell had to settle for second under Paul Townend at 6/1 while the 7/2 favourite Old Supporter was a further twelve lengths back in third under Brian Hayes for Peter McCreery.

Henry De Bromhead said afterwards: “It's nice to get a winner here as I’ve been struggling over the last couple of days. They have been running well without winning.

"His jumping was unreal and it’s great for the syndicate (the Garristown Aintree Syndicate).

"They bought him a few months ago on my recommendation as a horse to have fun with."
