The opening Fun For All The Family Handicap Hurdle at Downpatrick today was won in dramatic style by the James Lambe trained Daytime Dreamer (9/1) who finished under a wet sail to score for jockey Brian Hughes.
The son of Diktat looked booked for third spot turning into the straight but picked up well to head 6/4 favourite Bank The Bucks near the line, for a half length win.
Afterwards Lambe stated “I'm delighted with that – I always thought he was capable but he is a tricky customer and Brian gave him a great ride today. He was entitled to do that on his form at Dundalk.”
