Days Ahead gets race after enquiry
Magical Memoir stepped-up on some ordinary flat form to land the Anglo Printers Maiden Hurdle on her debut over flights under Mark Bolger but she lost the race in a Steward's Enquiry to Days Ahead at Galway.
Bolger had Magical Memoir on terms two out and she closed the door on Days Ahead (didn't have the room to challenge) on the run-in to score by a length and a half but the stewards deemed Magical Memoir had improved her position.
Bolger said of the Jessica Harrington-trained 12/1 shot: "I didn't think Davy (Russell on Days Ahead) would have got to me even if he'd got through. She is a nice filly and she has taken to hurdling well."
Days Ahead is trained by Eoin Doyle and he is owned by Maurice Mason.
