Dawn raid Leaves the bookies reeling
Charles Byrnes and Davy Russell successfully teamed up

Charles Byrnes and JP McManus have both landed their fair share of gambles over the years, and the pair successfully teamed up with devastating effect as Leave At Dawn routed his 16 rivals in the Horse & Jockey Handicap Hurdle.
Available at 7/2 this morning and sent off the 11/10 favourite, Davy Russell’s mount struck the front just before two out where Flemerelle fell and badly hampered a number of the chasing pack including Tynaghs Trooper and Hard Bought
The four-year-old son of Presenting was soon in command and went right away on the run-in to beat Skehana Bridge by nine and a half lengths. Miss Faithful was nearly four lengths further back in third, with Mr Mulliner in fourth.
The winner was reappearing after a near six-month break when staying on into fifth behind Snapchat on his handicap debut at Fairyhouse earlier this month.
Byrnes said, "It was a bad race and the handicapper can't be too hard on him, and he'll tip away in those handicaps for the rest of the winter.
"He's unlikely to run at Clonmel (entered to run next Thursday) and I'd imagine it'll probably be Christmas before he runs next."
