Davy Russell's brilliant run of form from the end of May into June continued with a 21/1 Clonmel double completed on Just Janice in the Orchard Thieves Handicap Hurdle.
Russell began the evening winning in the famous Gigginstown House Stud silks on Dawn In The Park in the opener.
Again he pulled on famous colours in race three when partnering Just Janice for the Flynns from Dungarvan as the King's Theatre mare made her second appearance for the John Kiely yard.
This race was run in conjunction with the 'Orchard Thieves Style Awards.'
With celebrity judge Kamal Ibrahim (TV presenter and former Mr World) there was a prize fund of 500 Euros for both the best dressed lady and the most appropriately dressed gent.
In the two and a half mile race Russell held Just Janice up the towards rear.
They made progress in eighth towards the outer entering the straight, and when asked the five-year-old led before two out. She kept on well from the last to defeat Steamboat Quay by a length and a half.
"John got the instructions right. He's a marvellous trainer and I've been riding winners many years for him," reflected Russell.
The Stewards fined Adrian McAllister, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Go Forty Go in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
