Davy doubles up
Philip Fenton’s Final Instalment confirmed the promise of his previous efforts when readily making a winning hurdle debut in the Course Signage At Navan Maiden Hurdle at Navan today.
The impressive point to point and bumper winner, off the track since last April, jumped well under Davy Russell and didn’t have to work very hard to account for runner-up Vics Canvas by two and a half lengths.
Afterwards Fenton stated “Last Instalment promised to be a nice horse from well back. However, I thought I’d have had him out before Christmas but he didn’t have the best of preparations and had a few pitfalls, nothing major, along the way. ”
“He should make an exciting chaser and will only have a couple of more runs over hurdles – the Fairyhouse Festival could be a later option for him. He is affective on nice ground and is a beautifully actioned horse.”
