Danse Away held the late charge of Bitsandpieces in a terrific finish to the handicap chase at Navan as Danny Mullins recorded a double on the card.
Tom Nagle's charge was to the fore throughout in the two-and-a-half mile contest but was strongly pressed jumping the third last.
Bitsandpieces looked to be travelling best before the penultimate fence but was asked for an effort after two out as Well Tom also challenged.
Danse Away proved tough in front, however, and repelled the run of Bitsandpieces on the climb to the line, holding on for a head victory.
The 8/1 winner had been well held when tried over hurdles at this venue last weekend.
Nagle said:- “He’s a slow lairy horse and he needs to be forcefully ridden. He travelled too well in his first two hurdles this year, and any day he’s won he’s been forcing it from the front. He’s brilliant over a fence.”
Mullins had earlier teamed up with his mother Mags to score with Salty Boy
