Dance Night Andday just repelled the rallying challenge of Charlisse to edge a thriller for the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap at the Curragh.

The Ross O'Sullivan-trained daughter of Buratino made a successful return to action at Naas 13 days ago and followed up in the six-furlong contest.

Colin Keane tracked the front-runners Saturn Seven and Charlisse before asking his mount to challenge a furlong from home.

Dance Night Andday got to the front inside the final furlong but then had to hold on at the line as Charlisse came back at her, getting the verdict by just a nose.

“It's great to have Colin Keane on your side, he was brilliant on her. I didn't realise that it was only a nose,” said O'Sullivan.

“It was a good performance carrying top-weight. She came out of Naas really well and she's a lovely filly to have. She's an improver and has a good temperament.

“She's lovely and relaxed. I walked through the barn last night and she was lying panned out, there wasn't a budge out of her.

“Colin said when he got to the front she pricked her ears and parked, she got idle. He knows her well, the three times she's won he's been on her.

“She'll probably dip her toe in a Listed race now and see where we are from there.

“There are a couple of different options for her. I stuck her in the Ballycorus at Leopardstown to have a look, as she's won around there before, but I'd say that will be tasty.

“I'd nearly go Listed before that. She has a good mind and definitely wants good ground, that's the key to her. It's lovely to have a really nice filly like her.”
