The Damian English trained Dance Alone made up for a fast-finishing recent runner-up effort at Gowran to win the 'Hothouse Flowers' Handicap at Leopardstown today, to win for jockey Rory Cleary.
The five year old gelding was a 14/1 half-length second for the On Each Way Syndicate at Gowran on May 30 and today won by that same amount, at 12/1, when beating Mr Ormsby
English later said “he ran a blinder in Gowran last week where he was drawn wide and got a bit unbalanced around the bend. I’d four entered in this and I was half-thinking of running the four but Rory said just run him and Geological (eventual fifth) - Rory called it spot on.
“He’s in at Roscommon on Monday so if he’s sound he’s going to take his chance.
“They are in great form and Geological also ran a blinder. Lets hope we can keep it going now.”
