Custom Cut stayed on strongly inside the final furlong to land the spoils in the concluding seven-furlong handicap at Cork.
Danny Grant notched a brace when sending the gelding up to claim Angel Bright just inside the final furlong.
George Kent 's charge galloped on strongly in the closing stages to record a two-and-three-quarter length success over the 11/4 favourite.
The winner was gaining a deserved success after a couple of placed efforts at Listowel and Killarney.
"He's a proper little horse. He was bought as a lead horse but he's doing that and a bit more," said Kent, who trains near Tramore.
"We've just a small yard and I want to pay tribute to my staff who put in great work and to Danny Grant who is a great help."
Kent was training his second Flat winner having saddled his first with Ronans Bay at Fairyhouse last September.
Grant had also scored earlier on the card when Chois The Idea had taken the sprint handicap.
