Curtis wins opener at Gowran Park
Ben Curtis recorded his first winner for the Currabeg Stables after he won the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race aboard 4/1 shot Lingapour
Curtis who made all aboard the Gulch gelding was strongly pressed by the 4/9 favourite Baglioni from over a furlong and half out but kept on well on the run-in to score by a neck.
Jim O'Neill assistant to the winning trainer John Oxx said afterwards: "He has always being working well enough at home and it was a good performance."
"He probably would like the ground a bit quicker than it was today. He could step up to a mile or a mile and a quarter."
