Curtis times it well aboard Flame
Quench The Flame from the Tom Hogan stable came with a well timed run to land the Tadgh Clifford Groundcare Handicap in the hands of Ben Curtis.
Curtis moved through on the outer to take up the lead inside the final furlong for a narrow win over Faoileanda
Winning trainer Hogan said afterawards: “He would have been an unlucky loser had he of been beaten.”
“Ben [Curtis] was good on him and he didn’t panic when he got into a little bit of trouble. Ben has been very lucky for us this year.”
“We will go hurdling with him next.”
Faoileanda who finished second was demoted to third after a Stewards Enquiry when he hampered the third Gentleman Jeff close home.
