Friday's Chester Cup winning trainer Dermot Weld won Killarney's opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF (C & G) Maiden today as his Probe skipped clear for an easy win under dual-Champion Jockey Colin Keane.
Falcon Eight was Weld's first winner of the prestigious 2m2f Chester Cup, winning under Frankie Dettori, and today Probe, a Juddmonte-bred and owned son of Kingman, won on third career start when sprinting clear for a seven lengths win over Draconid
Afterwards jockey Keane reported “I rode him on debut when he was plenty green and raw, and loved him. Oisin (Orr, jockey) said he was plenty green again the second day and said he'd appreciate going that little bit further and the step up to a mile with juice in the ground suited.
“It probably wasn't the strongest race but you'd like the way he did it and hopefully he can keep improving. I wouldn't think he's too far off Stakes level.”
