Cue Card's half brother scores at Down Royal
The 19 runner Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Chase looked wide open on paper with victory in the end going to the Seamus Fahey trained Hidden Crack a half brother to Cheltenham Bumper winner Cue Card, under Shane Butler.
The son of Lahib was left in front by the exit of leader Knocklayde Euro at the third last fence, and eventually eased to a 28 lengths success on the run-in.
Afterwards Fahey stated “we thought that would happen at Limerick the last day but he unseated rider.
“He is a half brother to Cue Card but wouldn’t be in the same parish as him! However we’ll see what the handicapper does next and we’ll try for something similar before maybe going for the EBF Novice Final at Navan.”
