Cuckoo cruises to success
Gormanstown Cuckoo won as an odds-on favourite should when cantering to success in the Nick O'Toole Arkle Memorabilia Maiden Hurdle at Bellewstown.
Davy Russell had an easy passage on the 4/6 shot, who jumped into the lead at the third last.
Colm Murphy 's charge didn't need to come out of second gear to record a five-length victory over Hollyville in the three-miler.
"We've been a long-time waiting for that. He's been unlucky and was on the wrong side of a few narrow verdicts," said Murphy.
"He also bumped into some good horses. It's the first time he's started to settle so we can go three miles with him now. He was doing too much in his races.
"After that we have a lot of options. He might take in a novice hurdle with a view to going chasing soon."
