Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning took the nursery in Galway with 9/1 shot Cuban Surfer
The daughter of Teofilo made headway on the outer to chase Amaira over a furlong from home.
She was ridden to hit the front in the final 150 yards and powered home by two lengths from the 33/1 chance. Harvest Bow flashed home from a long way back for third at 4/1. Grace To Grace gave her backers an each-way dividend in fourth at 22/1.
Kevin Manning said: "She has been running good races and she came down the ratings which was a big help. She had been running consistently well in her races."
The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Royal Canford ridden by N.M. Crosse, Commodus ridden by S.M. Crosse, Fine Fettle ridden by D.P. McDonogh, and Cuban Surfer, ridden by K.J. Manning, where it appeared that Commodus and Royal Canford ran short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Evidence was heard from S.M. Crosse in the presence of Mr. P. O' Brien. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that K.J. Manning was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his previous record in this regard suspended him for one race day.
