Celtic Crown stuck on gamely in the closing stages to land a big pot in the William Hill Emerald Mile Handicap at the Curragh.
The Hallowed Crown filly was making her third outing since joining Joe Murphy, this afternoon, and was prominent throughout in the €150,000 contest.
Wayne Lordan sent the 28/1 shot to the front inside the final furlong and she asserted in the closing stages to record a length-and-a-quarter success.
There was a bunch finish for the places with No More Porter edging out Haziya and Pierre Lapin by a short-head and a head.
“We're delighted with that, she's a very genuine, honest filly and loves racing,” said Murphy.
“We don't have her long but loved her the day we got her. We're lucky to have Robert Moran as an owner, he's a big owner to have and we're delighted to have our first winner for him.
“It was a good race, we got in and took our shot. We'll stick to handicaps with her for the moment and see how she is but I'm delighted with that win.”
