Gavin Cromwell added a Down Royal bumper win to Flooring Porter s successful Stayers Hurdle defence today, as the trainer's Law Ella landed the concluding Bluegrass Horse Feeds-sponsored race in Ireland.
Cheltenham's 'Porter Party' has been underway since the memorable 3.30pm race and at Down Royal, Law Ella continued the celebrations for Team Cromwell, as the easy-to-back 6/1 chance scored readily on debut, under jockey Joey Dunne.
Dunne later said “she was good but just didn't really know what was going on early on. I turned into the straight and I knew I had everything covered, she only started going turning in.
"As soon as I gave her a slap down the shoulder, she just changed her legs and she was gone.
"She showed us that at home, her work was fairly good and she's a really well-bred Yeats mare, and is big and scopey. She'll be better again on softer ground."
