Cotter Off The Mark
Richard Cotter, Ballynoe, Co. Cork ended the year on a high as he trained his first winner when Cruising Katie (9/2 in the morning into 7/2) ran out a decisive nine length winner of the Graun Hill Mares Maiden Hurdle from the well-supported favourite, Glitter Baby
Cotter said of his Lenny Flynn-partnered winner: "My last mare, Longueville Quest was placed a lot of times without winning. This one's form was good and she just wanted the better ground." (EM)
