Coscorrig best of the mares
Coscorrig proved the best of the girls as she claimed the Listed Mares Chase at Fairyhouse.
Bryan Cooper produced the nine-year-old to challenge, travelling well, going to the second last.
Dessie Hughes' charge had to work hard to get past leader Cruising Kate at the final fence, however, and was kept going on the run-in to record a three-length victory.
"The only doubt today was the trip. 2m2f is ideal for her but she's also quick enough for two miles," said Hughes.
"She was very good today and is a good mare. She might go to Punchestown for a handicap. Mares can do that - turning out again so soon."
