Cooper excels on Symphonist
On his second start for Roy Wilson Symphonist (20s this morning and 12s into 8s on track) benefited from a positive Bryan Cooper ride to land the Down GAA Fundraising Novice Handicap Hurdle at Downpatrick.
The waited with favourite Breeze With Ease was asked for his effort before the second last but it was soon apparent that he wasn't getting there as Symphonist galloped on well to score.
Cooper said: "He jumped from hurdle to hurdle and was very quick. He wouldn't want the ground any quicker though."
William Rankin, who won 2 point-to-points on Symphonist and is assistant to Roy Wilson, said: "The key to this horse is a wind operation that he had 138 days ago.
"He is entered at Aintree for the race after the National, a conditional jockeys handicap hurdle."
