Simply Sideways, second left, heads for home

Simply Sideways has been performing consistently and picked up her second win of the year in the second division of the apprentice handicap over a mile in Naas.
The 7/1 shot found for Sean Bowen and stayed on to lead on the run to the final furlong.
She was strong in the final 150 yards as she was driven out to account for Singe Anglais (11/1) by a length and a-quarter. Morning Approach (12/1) and 20/1 Shawaf gave their backers a place return in third and fourth respectively.
“I'm delighted with that, I was very sweet when I saw the rain as she handles a cut in the ground,” said Tim Doyle.
“She's a lovely honest filly, she always runs her race. We'll give her an entry in Galway, if there is a 0-70. Galway would suit her if she got in.
“Sean gave her a smashing ride, he said they were going plenty quick enough so he took his time and she saw it out well.”
