Conright Boy finished best to land the Low Low Handicap Hurdle at Cork for Cathy O’Leary and Adam Short.
Eventual second Bal De Rio (28/1, not fluent last) looked a winner late on, but he couldn’t ultimately repel the 18/1 victor. The pace-setter came again, getting there near the line to win by a head.
“He's very honest and has that one cruising speed,” said the winning trainer.
“He's rated fairly high over fences for an 11-year-old but he jumped hurdles well today.
“We don't have anything particular in mind for him but there might be a nice race over fences for him at Fairyhouse.
“A lot of the races for veterans are over three miles and I'm not sure if he wants that far, we've tried him at that before and he may not have got the trip.”
