Condon strikes again with Cat
Ken Condon has his string in great order and Curl Cat provided another winner for the in-form trainer in the claimer at Clonmel.
Shane Foley tracked the leader Belleau in the early stages before sending his mount up to challenge with three furlongs to run.
He edged ahead at the two marker and galloped on stoutly in the closing stages to record a length-and-a-half success. Rocky's Pride stayed on to grab second close home.
Condon trains the gelding for the Iona Equine Syndicate and operates out of the owners' base in Maynooth.
"We thought the ground might be a shade quick for him but he handled it well," said Condon.
"He missed a year with injury and we're delighted to win with him as it's two years since he last won.
"He's entered at Laytown (a week from today) and he may run there. He's a fun horse and when he's fit and well it's better to race him than work him at home.
"He likes Dundalk and there is a good programme there for him over the winter."
