Conright Boy recorded his third win in just over 12 months when taking the Your Clubs Fundraiser At Fairyhouse, Enquire Today Handicap Hurdle.
The Cathy O’Leary-trained gelding attracted some support this morning at 20/1, and the top-weight eventually went off a 14/1 chance.
Robbie Power sent him to the front before the penultimate flight, and he was ridden out on the run-in to score by four and a quarter lengths.
The 11/8 favourite Top Othe Ra put in his best work at the finish to take the runner-up spot, with Eight Till Late another length and a quarter back in third. Weightfordave was disputing second place about two lengths off the winner when falling at the last.
Power said, “He loves that ground. In fairness to Cathy she has been patient waiting for this ground. It wasn’t soft enough when he ran here in a good handicap about a month ago.”
