Shattered Love maintained her unbeaten record so far this season, as she ran out a comfortable winner of the Clonmel Oil Chase Day November 16th Mares Chase.
Successful on her racecourse debut over fences at Fairyhouse last month, the daughter of Yeats was expected to follow-up this afternoon, going off the 4/9 favourite under Jack Kennedy.
Settled in second, she improved to lead before the fifth. She went clear before two out, going on from there to score comfortably by seven lengths. Miss Eyecatcher (7/2), who blundered five out, finished second under Paul Townend for Roger McGrath, while Lily Yeats was six lengths back in third.
Davy Condon, representing Elliott, said afterwards: "She is a massive mare and is like a gelding and Jack said she had no bother with the trip and she travelled away lovely. Her jumping was brilliant the whole way and she never missed a beat.
"Jack said she wouldn't want real heavy ground so Gordon will pick and choose her races now. She has loads of scope and Jack said her jumping is unreal and you'd like to see her on a bigger track."
