Comet shoots to double
Trainer Pat Martin completed a double at Bellewstown this evening, when his Donatis Comet under a strong drive from Jason McKeown, ran out the narrow winner of the concluding McLoughlin Oil Bumper.
Recently engaged McKeown rode like a man with a wedding to pay for, forcing the son of Spinning World to the front inside the final furlong, for a half length win over Dingaling
Afterwards Martin stated “Donatis Comet is Flat bred was due to run on the Flat last year but panicked in the stalls. He can be a bit hot if he gets upset so we decided to run him in bumpers instead.”
“He’s good at this job and is tough. Jason (McKeown) always said he would be better on better ground and hopefully he will have a nice future.”
