Comet blasts to bumper treble
The Pat Martin trained Donatis Comet completed a hat-trick of consecutive bumper wins when claiming the concluding Jim Ryan Racecourse Services Bumper at Tipperary this afternoon.
Ridden by Barry O’Neill, the son of Spinning World battled well in the straight to eventually defeat Competitive Edge (10/1 – 5/1) by a short head. The Stewards subsequently enquired into interference between the pair close home but left the result unchanged. After ards Martin stated “Donatis Comet is very tough but isn’t really a national hunt horse as he had a problem with a hock previously. He is unlikely to run at Galway but may get an entry in the 1m4f amateur maiden.”
