Comet backed and duly prevails
On her fifth outing for Dermot Weld Hallie's Comet came good to land a bit of a touch in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Handicap at Listowel.
This ex-Andrew Kinsella-trained four-year-old was backed from 8/1 this morning into 11/2 and she won in great style by four lengths under Pat Smullen for owner Joe Higgins.
Smullen said: "She won very well and she is decent on her day – when she gets the right conditions."
Hallie's Comet won her only previous race, a maiden at Naas, back in October 2008.
