Colville saddles first winner on track
P J Colville who is based in Fethard County Tipperary saddled his first winner on the track when Ballinvassa landed the Copper & Spice Restaurant Mares Maiden Hurdle by an easy ten lengths under Ruby Walsh.
Colville who was a successful amateur jockey was based with Aidan O’Brien for over ten years and partnered Champion Hurdle winner Brave Inca to win two bumpers.
A delighted Colville said afterwards: “That was grand, it was a long time coming and it was great to get my first winner on the track.”
“She did it in some style and we’ll probably go for a winner’s race next and maybe try get a bit of Black Type for her. There’s a race coming up in Down Royal that we might go for.”
“I’ve only a handful of horses in training and mainly have point to pointers and then sell them on.”
