Coliseum comes good at Gowran
Coliseum missed his engagement at Sligo yesterday owing to ground conditions but on the good surface at Gowran the son of Medicean found himself at home, making most to land the Knocktopher Maiden Hurdle by a length from the staying on Brodies Dubrovnik
Winning trainer, Robbie Hennessy said of the Andrew Lynch-ridden winner (7/2 into 11/4): "He is my first winner since Sublimity in Leopardstown at Christmas. He's a half-brother to Pivotal and I bought him last October in the sales in England for three grand. I had no intention of buying him until a girl from Stoutes told me to have a look at him. I then got some of my friends into him including my brother-in-law. They are from Artane and Ratoath.
"I pulled him out at Sligo yesterday because of the soft ground. He'll probably go for a winners of one now but it all depends on the ground."
