The Colm Murphy trained Mister Hotelier claimed his fourth career success when landing the Grade B HB Dennis Land Rover Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse today, winning under substitute rider Robbie Colgan.
Colgan was filling in for Paul Carberry who was stood down (sore in his lower back area) for the day having fallen in the opener and in the end Mister Hotelier capitalised on the final fence blunder of leader Sraid Padraig which had appeared looked a likely winner.
Colgan seized his chance on the run-in and kept the somewhat fortunate winner going for a half length win over Sraid Padraig, which did well to recover from his error.
Following the win, Murphy stated “he deserved a nice pot and was a bit unlucky in Galway the last day as he thought he’d done enough when he hit the front. You probably won’t see him now until Christmas, and we'll find something for him then.”
