Cochise the hero at Thurles
Trainer Shane Broderick recorded his first winner since last November when his Cochise overcame uninspiring form figures of 'p60-0' when winning the Clonoulty Handicap Hurdle at Thurles today.
Ridden by Broderick's assistant Johnny Levins, the son of Flemensfirth raced in mid-division before getting to the front before the final flight, staying on well for a two lengths win over Bold Present
Afterwards a delighted Broderick reported “Cochise lost his form a bit and we sent him hunting to help freshen him up. He likes Thurles, has won here before, and will go for something similar again next – Johnny (Levins) gave him a super ride.”
