Cobbler's Way (5/1) went into plenty of notebooks as he drew right away from the opposition in the bumper at Limerick.

He was second in a point-to-point at Dromahane for Colin Bowe in April and was making his racecourse debut for Henry de Bromhead who enjoyed an across-the-card treble (Malinas Jack and Cuneo won in Leopardstown).

The four-year-old gelding made all and had his rivals off the bridle passing the three pole.

He was clear with a quarter of a mile to travel and wasn't for stopping as he scooted in by 11 lengths from La Tektor (14/1). Dinny Lacey completed the placings in third at 12/1.

Barry O'Neill said: "I knew the horse; we had him at home in Colin Bowe's as a youngster. We always loved him and with the height of him, he's 17 hands, it was good work to be able to run as a four year old and he stayed on well that day (when second in his point to point).

"Henry has since got him and has done a great job with him. I knew when I sat up on his in the parade ring today he was twice the horse, as he was so strong.

"He loves soft ground and anything he does in bumpers or hurdles is going to be a bonus as he's an absolute smashing chaser in the making."
