Cleere seen to good effect
The Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden was claimed by the David Wachman trained Rocky Wednesday in the hands of Michael Cleere.
Cleere who made most aboard the Rock Of Gilbraltor colt was headed by Peaks Of Fire from over two furlongs out but under a strong drive by the five pound claimer the pair got back up to regain the lead close home.
Winning jockey Cleere said afterwards: “It was hard work as he is a bit lazy. He stays going really well.”
“He’ll make a lovely hurdler in time, he has a big frame and when he fills out behind he’ll be a lovely big horse.”
