Clarkey takes action packed contest
Clarkey was produced with a well-timed run by Alan Crowe to win an action packed Seamus Mulvaney Handicap Chase at Listowel.
Six of the sixteen failed to complete and the drama started at the first fence with Jigalo running out through the wing.
There were plenty in with chances turning for home but it was the Christy Roche-trained Clarkey who stormed to the front at the final fence and kept on well for a two-length success over Idarah
7/4 favourite Another Ambition travelled well until the straight but was well-beaten when crashing out at the last.
Crowe kept himself clear of all the trouble and said:- "I didn't see much. I had a nice position the whole way and he jumped very well.
"It's not quite winter ground out there but it's certainly the softest we have raced on this season so far."
Barry Geraghty, who was aboard one of the fallers Mahrajaan suffered a suspected broken nose.
