Clara More is a ten-year-old at this stage, but there's life left in the Luso gelding yet, as he showed when winning the Kilmolash (Q.R.) Handicap Hurdle at Clonmel.
Eoghan O'Grady 's charge already had a point-to-point and two other hurdle wins to his name, but the latest of these was back in July 2012.
However, after always being to the fore in this extended two miler under 'Bon' O'Neill, Clara More really asserted in the closing stages to put five lengths between himself and Lake Field
The favourite here, Visible Light was soon done with after a mistake two out, and he eventually filled the position of fifth.
"He was down to a winnable mark and that was his grade. He'll go for something similar next," reported O'Grady.
Mr C.W. Fennessy, rider of Colls Corner trained by Michael Barry, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up in running having gone lame.
