The impeccably bred Mundi a Galileo full brother to Churchill, got his career off to the best possible start when successful in the Get Best Odds Guaranteed At BetVictor Maiden in Dundalk.
Ryan Moore switched onto the Aidan O’Brien-trained colt after stablemate Igor Stravinsky (allergy) was ruled out and he was sent off the 7/2 second favourite.
The Ballydoyle three-year-old was prominent throughout and responded well under Moore inside the final furlong to beat Dairago by half-a-length. Vina Arana finished a further length and a quarter away in third with 4/7 favourite Dollerina finding no extra in fourth.
Stable representative Chris Armstrong said: "It was a good place to start him. Ryan gave him a lovely ride.
"He's a horse with plenty of size, he's got an unbelievable pedigree and he was just ready to start. He's a horse that Aidan has taken along gently.
"He thought bringing him up here would be a lovely race just to get him started off in. He was a little bit babyish through the run and is a horse that is going to progress nicely. Mentally he has got to do a few more things right.
"We'll just take it in baby steps and go for a winners' race, and take him along gradually.
"It is the right trip to get him started, he could go up a bit in trip as we go along. Hopefully, he will be a nice horse come the end of the season."
