Cheviot scores in tight finish
Cheviot and Niall McCullagh were on the right side of a desperately tight photo-finish to win the Go Racing In Kildare Handicap at Naas today.
Ridden by Niall McCullagh, the son of Rahy was eventually called the winner over West Coast Dream which had provided a strong challenge inside the final furlong.
Rathangan, Co Kildare trainer Reggie Roberts was represented by Johnny Feane who said “Cheviot has a few issues but we’re sorting them out now and he may go for the Scurry Handicap at The Curragh on Derby weekend. He probably prefers a bit of ease in the ground.”
