Another horse who was the subject of support this morning, Chemical Energy delivered in Fairyhouse today.
The Well Chosen gelding strode into contention alongside Lunar Display as the pair sized up the penultimate flight in the two and a half mile rated novice hurdle.
Lunar Display fractionally led over it and it was a similar story at the last, however, Chemical Energy raced past him in the final 150 yards and got the upper hand by a length and a half under Shane Fitzgerald.
He was noted being backed from 4/1 to 7/4 this morning and that's the price he was returned at. Runner-up Lunar Display went off at 'Burlington Bertie' 100/30. Sweet Street rallied to be third at 20/1.
Elliott said: “I didn’t think there was much between the two but Davy (Russell) said the ground was too good (for seventh-placed Rodaniche .
“This horse handles that ground and he jumped well. He’s a grand, honest horse and runs his race every day.
“I think that’s Shane’s first ride for me. We wanted to claim off him and it’s worked out well.”
