Cheer Up doubles up
Mother-daughter combination of Cathy Harrison and Katie Harrison were on the mark at Cork today, in the Easter Festival Handicap Hurdle when their Cheer Up followed up his recent Thurles win to score well under the 7lb claiming amateur rider.
Eventual runner-up Keats Dream (2/1 favourite) appeared to be traveling best, upsides, approaching the final flight, and although jockey Eddie Power refused to panic, a mistake at that obstacle cost favourite-backers deadly, with Cheer Up keeping up the gallop to record a half length win.
The win was jockey Katie Harrington's fourth career success and her second winner over hurdles.
