Chassotte just thwarts Sailors again
The Fun Lovin' Criminals Handicap at Leopardstown produced a thrilling finish with La Chassotte just getting home.
Ben Curtis produced the filly to lead over a furlong out but she had to battle in the closing stages. Sailors Warn who had chased her home at Roscommon last time, again emerged as the danger to Gerard O'Leary's charge and was just held by the narrowest of margins at the line.
"I'm delighted - she's an improving filly. She won well the last day and I was confident coming here," said Curtis afterwards.
"She loved the ground. We got bumped slightly in the middle of the race but I pushed her out and gave her some light.
"She held up the form from the last day and is a good battler. She's better fresh and will probably take a breather now. She could be stepped up to 1m4f."
