Donnacha O’Brien moved on to the 99 winner mark for the campaign, 4 ahead of Colin Keane, when taking the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Gowran on Arthur’s Kingdom (11/10 favourite).
From the front Zoheyr (first-time visor) was looking good when striking for home along the inner in the straight.
Second on his two previous starts, Arthur’s Kingdom showed a good attitude to catch Zoheyr in the closing stages for a length and a half success. Maker Of Kings was five and a half lengths back in third.
O’Brien’s father Aidan trains the successful Camelot colt.
“He did it well. He had a good run the last day so he was probably entitled to do that,” reported the winning jockey.
“He'll stay a good bit further next year. He stuck at it well and stayed out the trip well.”
